Happy Halloween!!

Happy Halloween, from our house to yours!!

Lilliana and Wilson so sweet

me and my little "Lilly"

so precious :)

trick -or-treating around our neighborhood

Lilliana had a great Halloween! We spent the day with Mr. Wilson while his Mommy and Daddy were working. After naps, I got the kids bathed and fed and we were all ready to head out into the neighborhood to get some candy! Wilson and Lilly did great and were such good sports walking / strolling around. After going to a few houses we came back and passed out candy to the kids that stopped by our house. Wilson was able to enjoy 1 piece of his candy that he collected while Clay and I enjoyed Lilliana's candy :) It was so much fun to celebrate with friends and be able to have a baby to share the excitement with!

Sick again!!

Well, Miss Priss started having some trouble sleeping through the night about this time last week. I should know by now that when she does this she isn't just trying to pester me but that something is off with her. Along with the frequent night waking, she was also congested and had a runny nose. At first I figured it was just due to the weather changes here in Memphis but after it lasting almost a full week I decided to cave and take her into the Pediatrician's office today. Well, low and behold, she has another ear infection. In both ears again!! This is her 3rd in 10 month's. I was informed that in order to need tubes they must have 7 in 1 years time span so I am glad we are no where near that point.

After talking with Dr. S. we decided to place her back on Amoxicillin which I was very in favor of since it is FREE at Schnucks and her last dose of Omnicef cost us more than $50.00 for the generic! So thankful for the list of free antibiotics that are offered! It is wonderful. :)

We will do the Amoxil twice a day for 10 days and hopefully by Tuesday she will start to feel better.

Update: One thing I forgot to mention is the face that Lilliana has gained 12 ounces since her 9 month check-up so that is great. Dr. K wasn't worried about her weight when we went at 9 month's but since she had only gained 1 pound in the last 3 month's I was a little worried. I was pleasantly surprised today when I placed her on the scales :)

Happy Birthday Clay!

Happy Birthday to you,
Happy Birthday to you,
Happy Birthday dear Clay,
Happy Birthday to you!

Today Clay celebrated his 28th birthday. We went to the Germantown Commissary for dinner, one of his favorite barbeque places to eat around here, and then rounded out the evening at the Memphis Zoo, for the annual Zoo Boo. All of the proceeds go to LeBonheur Children's Hospital, where I work in the PICU. Since St. Jude Children's Research Hospital is also in Memphis, LeBonheur doesn't get much publicity so I am happy to support them in the few opportunities that are available.

Following dinner we heading to the Zoo and had a wonderful time. They had certain exhibits open and there were many stations where candy was passed out along with magic shows, costume contests and a haunted hayride. We really enjoyed ourselves and I think Lilliana did too. We were out WAY past her bedtime in order to attend Zoo Boo, but she was a trooper the whole time. At the magic show, there were bubbles and Lilliana couldn't get enough. She thought they were so great, I think I am going to have to get some for the house to entertain her on those cool rainy days we have coming up!

October 18th is also memorable for other reasons in our house. This is the day that Clay proposed to me 5 years ago! It is also the day that we were admitted to the hospital at 24 weeks when I was in preterm labor with Cooper in 2006. This is the day that our lives were completely turned upside down with the possibility of a VERY pre-term child. On the way to the OB's office we had no idea what was in store for our little family but we learned fairly quickly upon arriving. Although God has placed us through many trials in the last few years we just cling to the fact that He is not going to give us more than we can handle and we trust Him with that promise.

Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Day

Today is the National Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness day. This includes those lost from misscarriage, stillbirth, early infant death and SIDS. I wasn't aware of this until October of 2006 when my life was flipped completely upside down and we were struck with the incredible loss of Cooper Walker Burchett, our first born son.

Please join me in praying for those who have lost infants in the past and those going through difficult pregnancies as we speak. As a mother, your heart is forever changed with the loss of a child and there will always be a wound that may never heal. Although Lilliana has been brought into our lives there will always be a void there where Cooper's life will live on. I will rejoice with my earthly children until we meet again.

10 month's young!

On Monday, my little angel turned 10 month's young! I feel like every month is going by more quickly than the last and there are times when I wish I could just bottle it up and keep her in the exact stage she is in currently. She is just so much fun and such a joyous child to be around. This month Lilliana really started pulling up on everything and has become such a quick little cruiser. I used to be able to run into the kitchen and fix myself a drink or something but now I can't leave her for a single second. She has started following me all over the house if I try to leave a room and we are definitely facing some serious separation anxiety. She doesn't really like to be left with other's especially if it's me handing her over. :)

She is doing much better riding in the car although we still have our moments where she is just not a fan! I feel like she has finally started gaining some weight because she is eating much better these days. She loves to feed herself and we go through puffs and yogurt melts like crazy. I have recently learned that I must feed her baby food prior to giving her any finger foods because she LOVES to shake her head "no" and will do so repeatedly and not open for a bite if she is given finger foods first. It took a while for me to realize this because she is such a sneaky little stinker but I think I am finally figuring out at least some of her little quirks!

She is still not a great napper and really only naps well when it is with me! We have been working on this diligently but so far daytime naps aren't going so great. The thing is, she really doesn't get in a bad mood during the day and at times can go an entire day with only a couple cat naps. At times, I feel like I need more sleep than she feels she does!! She does sleep wonderful at night and will usually sleep until around 7ish in the morning. I plan to continue to work on the nap situation because I know she needs more sleep whether she thinks so or not.

Before I know it we will be celebrating the big 1st birthday and I just can't believe it. She has been the greatest gift I could ever had asked for and we thank God for her each new day.

Pumpkin Patch

Clay, Lilliana and I headed out to the pumpkin patch at Second Baptist Church earlier in the week. We had thought about traveling out to Cedar Hill Farms in Hernando, MS but since it is about an hour away and since Lilliana is still so young we decided that we would just save that for next year. We really enjoyed the local patch here and they had a great site for pictures, and the proceeds go to the churches youth group so it really couldn't get better. We purchased 5 pumpkins this year, one for each of our family members, (including Maggie) :).

After leaving the pumpkin patch we headed to Lowe's and got some beautiful orange Mum's for the front porch and after changing out the basket on the front door I feel we are officially ready for fall!

Have you ever seen anything cuter?

I have to so NO!!  She is the best little girl in the world, and I just love her more everyday :)  I thought she was looking extra cute today in her outfit, so I decided to take some pics, or a ton of them!

"Fireproof"

A couple weeks ago, Clay and I went out on a date while his parents watched Lilliana.  This is actually only the 2nd time we have been out by ourselves for a date since Lilliana was born!  She is so worth it though and we just hate to leave her.

We decided to go see the movie "Fireproof" after we heard about it at our church.  The guy who plays Wayne in the movie is our new Associate Pastor of students.  Because of this, he was able to get us passes to the premiere which included free popcorn and a drink.  It was such a great movie and I hope it will make a difference in other's lives.  It definitely changed my life and makes me realize how thankful I am for Clay and the relationship we have together.  God truly hand picked him just for me :)

Anyways, I say all this so that you will get out and see the movie.  It has a great story line and was a wonderful family friendly film.
