A Major Cut ...

Before .....

After.....

It was kinda on a whim. Little Love was in dire need of a good cut but I decided at the last minute to bob it. Clay had been wanting me too and after asking if she wanted short hair like Mommy's, she said yes!! I was so nervous but absolutely love it. It's so much easier to fix and takes less than half the time to dry.

Revival 2011

This year our church hosted a most fabulous revival. It was 15 days long and to be honest, when they first announced it was going to be more than 2 weeks long I thought they were crazy! I thought, there is no way I will be there, that is way too much of a time commitment. Well, I couldn't have been more wrong. It was such an amazing experience and one I won't soon forget.

We had an amazing team from Life Action Ministies which was lead my the amazing Steve Canfield. He was by far one of the best preachers I have ever heard. So honest and true and was able to just rock me to my core. I feel like I have been so spiritually empty over the past year or so but after this Revival I am more than renewed!!

As a church we were able to see so many changes and many men and women come to know Christ or just make sure their salvation was on track. We even had 2 men from our Sunday School class that went down front to give their life to Christ. I think it is such an act of God when someone goes forward as an adult. It is such an act of obedience and just set the precedence for the entire 2 weeks.

The entire message was about families and how to be a better wife/husband/mother and father. It was just the exact message that Clay and I needed to hear during this time in our life and I am so glad that we were able to attend. It definitely was life-changing!!

Below is a link to their facebook page where Steve talks about the major impact they had at our church.

today's topic is kiss...

this was Little Love's first kiss from her most favorite boy outside of her daddy, Wilson.

1st trip to the dentist

On Tuesday I took Little Love to the dentist for the first time. I was unsure about how she was going to act but in true Little Love fashion, she did great! I was so pleased and she was excited to be able to choose a toy out of the treasure box once she was done. Of course, I'm sure it helped that we went to see Dr. Drew, one of her best friends dad's :)

I'm sad that the only picture I could find was of Clay and Little Love and it is super old. From 2007 to be exact, and long before the upgraded camera, but I didn't want to miss out.

Valentine's

I had such a great Valentine's Day with these 2 precious gifts! Love them so much!!

Valentine's Party

The Friday before Valentine's Day, Little Love, Little Man and I packed up and headed over to Missy's house for a Valentine party with the moms and kids in our Sunday School class. It was such a fun time and I really enjoyed getting some time out to have some adult conversation. Missy had paper bags for the kids to decorate with crayons and stickers and place their individual Valentine's in. I had ordered Little Love some Valentine's off Etsy that had Olivia on them and they were just too cute paired with the M & M's she picked out.

I really love all the girls in my small group and our kids all do really well together. I think there were about 30 kids there and there are more on the way now! Such fun times watching God bless so many precious families in our church.

On a side note, Little Love was upstairs playing with the girls while I was downstairs and when I called her down for cupcakes, this is what she looked like. Palmer and her had been playing in Chloe's make-up!! Too cute :)

today's topic is dreams...

What does your loved one dream of accomplishing or doing? Take a photo that pays homage to this dream.

Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law

Clay has dreamed of going to law school for as long as I remember but it wasn't until the last year that it became something he decided he wanted to try and attain. We still don't know anything and aren't even sure he will get in this year but I know one things for sure, if he doesn't get in this go around, I am sure he will just keep trying. Oh and as for me, I will just keep supporting him in this dream.

today's topic is space-where they are comfortable...

Little Man is most comfortable in someone's arms. This picture is from Christmas time when we were at Paint A Piece with Little Love and I asked Clay's parent's to tag along and lend some assistance. This is Little Man with his GiGi, who dearly adores him and his little sister. :)

Clay loves the Memphis Tigers whether it's basketball or football and Little love is the cutest little cheerleader and loves to go with him to games!

More Snow

Crazily, we got even more snow the week before Valentine's Day. I was so glad that I was home this time and since it was the middle of the week I wasn't tired and was able to enjoy it fully with the kids. Clay and I took them out for a little ride in our homemade sled for a trip around the block and we had too much fun!!

A rude awakening ....

Well, this past weekend, I switched my shifts around a little bit and decided to work Saturday and Sunday night in a row instead of my normal schedule. We have a nurse that is out because of her little boy being sick so we have been short staffed on Saturday nights. Well anyways, doing the 2 shifts in a row made me much more tired this morning and I just knew I wasn't going to have a bit of trouble sleeping with Little Love was at school.

There was some snow predicted for our area and by time I was leaving work, it had already begun to sleet and rain some. Upon arriving home, I check the news and at that point, all the schools were still in session. We kinda freak out around here in the South with any amount of snow accumulation or even possibility of it. Well, I told Clay that he needed to make sure he wrote down his phone number on the check-in sheet for Little Love because I was super tired and wasn't sure I would hear the phone if they were to close school early.

Around 11:00, I woke up because Little Man was starting to stir and I tried calling Clay on his cell. There wasn't an answer. I had an initial thought of fear rush through my mind because he had said he would come home after dropping off Little Love at school so that I could get some good sleep. I got out of the bed and come to find out, he was sitting on the couch doing some work for school. I asked him where his phone was and he said he had left it in the car but he would get it. I left Little Man with him and headed back to bed. I remember my phone ringing around 12:45 and it was my mom but I wasn't sure why she was calling me because she is usually super respectful and doesn't call when she knows I'm sleeping. I figured she had possibly forgotten and just sent her to voicemail and quickly fell back asleep. The phone rang again almost an hour later and it was her again. I got frustrated and answered in my continued state of exhaustion and she informed me that Little Love's school had been calling Clay and I for the past hour because school had let out early and they were waiting on me to get her! I flew out of the bed and unfortunately Mom had already had to leave form work to go get her but I met her just down the way to load Little Love up into my car and get us both home safely.

I couldn't believe they closed early because there wasn't a bit of snow on the ground when I woke up. I guess it was just the initial threat that caused them to make the rash decision. Well, that was my drama for the day. I just cried and cried, emailed Little Love's teacher to apologize and just couldn't believe she had been sitting up at that school as the last little girl waiting on her Mommy. Of course, her precious little heart couldn't figure out why I was crying and told me, "Mommy, don't cry, I was just playing with my friends." She had no idea what really had happened.

Bless her little heart and mine for that matter, I can guarantee there wont be any future nominations for Mom of the Year over here. I can also promise you it will be the last time I fall asleep with my phone on silent!!

joy of LOVE day 6

today's topic is who they love ...

Little Love sure does love this man as do I. I think she is turning into more of a Daddy's girl everyday and it sure does melt my heart.

And Little Love also sure does love her bunny, "carrot". One of my mom's good friends gave this to us when I was pregnant with L and she takes it is always by her side. We sleep with her, take her to school and even as of recently, stroll her around in the stroller and feed her when I am feeding Little Man. We actually got her switched with another little girls bunny while at school one day and the director had to come by and fix the confusion. :)
