Update on 9 month check-up

9 month STATS

weight: 15 lb. 10 oz.

height: 26 1/4 inches

head circumference: 43 cm

Her height was in the 25 % and weight and head circumference was 10 - 25 %.  Although she has only gained 1 pound since she was 6 months Dr. K was not concerned.  He kinda feels like this is where she is going to be on the growth curve and said that as long as she stays where he plotted her, he is happy.  According to my mom, I wasn't even on the curve when I was little so I am surprised that she is.  Clay and I are both small people so she definitely doesn't have the genes to be a very big girl!  Everything else checked out wonderfully and even though she has been pulling at her ears a ton lately, he said they were clear.  

We did discuss my hesitancy to continue to place her in the church nursery since RSV / Flu season is right around the corner.  Dr. K did agree with me and said that he is a pretty paranoid parent himself.  That made me feel a lot better considering I am not the norm with most of our friends.  I blame most of it on my nursing background and the fact that when I see kids get sick they are the sickest kids of all since they are requiring the PICU.  So, I guess that means that this Sunday will be the last nursery visit for a while, if she even goes this week.  RSV season is just around  the corner and usually is in full force starting in October and lasts through April.  

Not only will we be pulling her from nursery but we will making our outings a lot less frequently soon.  I just don't want to take any chances and feel like if there is something I can do to prevent her from getting sick then I am going to do it.  I would never forgive myself if she got sick and it was because of my carelessness.  So for those of you in the Memphis area, if you don't see much of us in the near future, we aren't being unsocial we have just become hermit crabs for the winter season!

9 month's young!

Another month has come and gone and now Miss Priss is 9 month's young!  I just can't believe it, I know I have said it a hundred times but she is growing up SO fast.  Every time she reaches a milestone I wish I could keep her at that stage forever, but then she does something new and I love it just the same.  It is amazing to me the amount of love that I have for her and how much she has changed Clay and I for the best.  

Some new things that Lilliana is doing in the past month is that she is now crawling everywhere.  It officially started on September 4th when she consistently started making forward movements and now she is all over the place.  We have started baby proofing the house and still have a ways to go.  She also like to wave hello and bye, bye.  Along with her new fascination with pulling up on everything, especially between the wee hours of 4:00 - 5:00 am!  This is definitely a new thing and one I would like to change.  She gets herself pulled up in the crib and then screams until you come and get her.  The problem is that of course I can't just lay her back down because that send her into a complete tyrant, so we have been rocking her back to sleep which is not always a quick process!  She also just recently learned to clap and is doing it ALL THE TIME.  I think she loves how excited we get when she does it and the "Yeah, Yeah" that comes from our mouth.  

We have our 9 month well baby check-up on the 22nd so I will update her STATS after that.  Luckily, this appointment is without shot's which we are very glad about.

Forrest Spence 5K

Today Clay, Lilliana and I participated in the Forrest Spence 5K.  This was the first year for the race and it was a HUGE success.  It was an amazing family that started this wonderful cause in memory of their first born son David Forrest Spence.  You can read more about their story here and what all they have been through.  

I took care of their precious Forrest after he was transported to LeBonheur last September.  They are such an amazing and godly family and they have definitely been through some storms.  Brittany is expecting their second child, a son, later this month and would really covet your prayers for a safe and healthy delivery.  

Update:  The race raised over $27,000 dollars for the families and patients at LeBonheur, and their were over 950 participants counting those there on race day and ghost runners!  Great job yall :)

It's official ....

Lilliana is EVERYWHERE!  She is scooting / army crawling all over the place.  I am not longer able to keep up with the little stinker :)  Just a few days ago I noticed her making a few forward motions but as of this morning, I would officially call her a crawler.  I just can't believe she is already at this stage.  I already feel worn out from placing her back on the quilt fifty thousand times a day.  I know it won't be long now until she is following me all around the house.  I really need to make an appointment to have my living room rug cleaned because I just can't stand the thought of her crawling all over where our dirty shoes have been.  I think once I get that done we are just going to have to stop wearing our shoes in the house.  At least for the time being.  

RSV / flu season is just around the corner so I feel I am going to be more of a stickler about cleanliness here soon.  I am actually not sure what I am going to do with her in church.  I have been putting her in the nursery since the Sunday after Mother's Day which made her almost 6 month's old.  Since then she has had 2 ear infections and some sort of a viral infection.  I know it is bound to happen but I am just a little more concerned when winter time rolls around.  I just know how bad things can get and since I know she doesn't qualify for synagis this year I don't think we are going to take any chances.  Clay and I spoke about taking turns going to service while the other stays out with her but we will just have to see.  

I scheduled Lilliana's 9 month appointment the other day and we go on the 22nd for that.  I am so glad that this appointment does not require any shots because those are still so hard on her, and me :)  Lilliana has really started showing some signs of separation anxiety lately.  She is good when I drop her off at nursery and when I go to the gym but if we are at home and I go to walk to another room she is not having any of it.  She cries and says Momma Momma Momma until I return.  It is so sad but I am enjoying the fact that she needs me.  Because of Clay's job search I have been trying to pick up 2 shifts per week so I think that is part of the problem.  She is realizing that I am gone a little bit more and I think she is still unsure of that.  Hopefully things will be back to normal soon and I will be able to go back to working only my 1 -2 shifts per month.  

Please continue to pray for Clay while he is still in search of a job.  The market is so terrible these days and even though he has been offered a couple positions he is trying to find a job he loves and the one that is just right for our family.
