Lilliana loves to play outside so while Clay and I were at Lowe's last week, we picked up a little Abby Cadabby Garden set just right for her. Then we decided to go outside and plant the seeds that came with her kit. She did so good and loved the idea that what she was doing was going to turn into something new. We've been outside watering them and watching them grow for the last week and with the exception of the wind that continues to knock them over, we already have little sprouts in them!

Girl's Weekend!
This past Wednesday, Lilliana and I headed out to Birmingham to meet up with my girlfriends from nursing school. This is the group that I get together with typically at the beach every year but this year that wasn't going to work so we decided to meet in the middle at Melissa's house in Homewood. We had such a great time and it was so nice to finally meet Baby James. Lilliana has not stopped talking about him and had so much fun loving on him and playing with him while we were there.
We didn't arrive until late on Wednesday night since L had school that day and I had some things to take care of at work so we ended up leaving Memphis around 2:30. We only stopped once in Tupelo before arriving in B'ham and Lilliana was great in the car, much thanks to Dora and Mickey Mouse!
On Thursday morning, Melissa went and picked up Jennifer from the airport and we headed to downtown Homewood for a delicious lunch at Zoe's Kitchen and did some shopping after meeting up with Katie. We then headed home to put the kids down for naps and then headed out to enjoy some Mexican food for dinner at a quaint little restaurant just outside of Homewood.
On Friday we decided to head to the pool and the weather was just perfect. After an adventurous trip there where I almost ran our of gas, we finally made it and enjoyed some yummy snacks for lunch courtesy of a quick trip to Publix. The kids did great and Lilliana really enjoyed swimming in her little "boat". It was really just a ring but that was what she kept insisting it was. :) Around 2:30 we headed back for naps again and Mel headed to the grocery to get some yummyness for dinner. Jim grilled chicken for us with peppers and onions, and we enjoyed a delicious spinach and artichoke dip that Mel made while he was grilling. Michelle arrived right before dinner was ready to round out our group to include all of us.
On Saturday we woke up to storms and stayed put besides a fun little trip to Babies R Us to help Jenn start her baby registry for Baby Boudreaux. Melissa and I headed back to the house to again, place the babies down for naps and we decided that since the weather was still so nasty that maybe we should just order out something for dinner. When everyone else arrived back at the house, we agreed on P.F. Chang's and Jim went to pick it up for us. We had a little impromptu shower for Jenn and Baby Boudreaux and then enjoyed our dinner.
It was such a great weekend and I always hate for my time with these girls to end. We have been through a lot together and I really look forward for the new babies to come and the years we will spend together. Love you girls and can't wait for our next trip!!

Helping Dadda
Clay has been working on an arbor for our backyard. We really haven't done much with this house since we moved in since we didn't think we would be here that long. Well, with Clay's job loss and the possibility of law school in our future we have decided we should put a little more effort into our current home to make it more enjoyable. Clay loves working outside and has been wanting to build one of these for a while so last weekend he just went for it. Lilliana really enjoyed helping her Daddy screw in the screws and was such a big helper. She started singing "You are my Sunshine" while she was working and of course but time I got the camera back out she wouldn't really perform for me. She is such a hoot, always singing and dancing around and NEVER stops talking! Love her :)

like mother, like daughter
Saturday night, I decided that I wanted to curl Lilliana's hair for church Sunday morning. My Mimi had given me some of my old curlers back a few month's ago and now that L's hair is getting so long I decided to give it a try. After bath, we sat down to watch an episode of Mickey Mouse and put in our curlers. I have old memories of watching "The Golden Girls" every Saturday night with my mom and sister when we were younger and mom putting sponge rollers in our hair. This was the only way mom could get any body into my fine hair and was actually the same thing we did the night before Clay and I got married. Yep, you read that correctly, the curls from my wedding day were from sponge rollers! Nothing else would work!! Anyways, Lilliana was really sweet and sat still for me to get her hair up and then we took some pics. I was a little worried at first that she wouldn't keep them in her hair or that she would at least pull some of them out overnight but she kept them all in. She did so good and curls is what we got. Clay was calling her curly Sue by morning. When I first took the rollers out, Lilliana told me, "momma, my hair is crazy", and I told her "no Lilliana it's not crazy, just curly" so everytime she would look at herself in the mirror she talked about how beautiful her curls were. She is so stinkin cute and knows it! I think we may make this a Saturday night tradition in the Burchett home as her hair is so straight otherwise. We got so many compliments and Lilliana just loved her new curly hair.

1st trimester screening
Today Clay, Lilliana and I headed to Dr. W's office for my PAPP-A which is a 1st trimester screen. My office does this instead of the triple screen and it consists of an ultrasound and bloodwork. I should get the results in the 1-2 weeks. It was really fun having Lilliana there with us and she was so sweet and such a good girl. The US didn't last but about 15 minutes since they were only getting a couple measurements. Baby B's heartrate was beating strong at 174 BPM and so far things are going well. I can tell a huge difference in the way I have felt as far as being so nauseous this week and hope we are on the upswing. I don't think I have taken a Zofran since early Monday morning! Considering I was taking typically atleast one per day we are doing great!
We are getting excited about this new blessing and all God has in store for our lives. Praying we can get to October and bring home a healthy baby after delivery with NO NICU stay :)

Prayers!
Tonight, I got an e-mail to check the Oswalts caringbridge site and I was beyond excited when I read what was going on in their lives tonight. They received "the phone call" a few hours ago notifying them that a heart was available! Carter is a precious little patient of mine that I took care of on many occasions at LeBonheur. Well, about 4 months ago, we transferred him to Vanderbilt to be placed on the heart transplant list because all other medical interventions were no longer working. Please lift up this precious family tonight, along with all of the doctor's and nurses and medical staff that will be assisting with his transplant. Please also pray for the selfless decision that another family had to make in order for Carter to be given this opportunity. To God be the Glory!!

Easter 2010
Easter is one of my most favorite holidays. I just love the meaning behind such a joyous occasion and the fact that Spring is here. The weather has been absolutely gorgeous around here lately and Lilliana and I have spent a lot of time outside.
On Friday, we met up with some friends at the park for an Easter Egg Hunt. The kids weren't as into the egg hunt as we had anticipated but I think they had fun. On Saturday, Clay took Lilliana out to Poppy and GiGi's house while I was napping after work and she was able to play and get her Easter basket from them. After naps we headed outside to have our toenails painted in preparation for Easter morning at church. Lilliana was so cute and sat so still while I polished to toes. :) I just love having a little girly girl. That night, we headed over to the Mefford's for a yummy dinner Clay and Drew cooked on the grill and enjoyed eating outside and allowing the kids to play. When we got home, Lilliana and I made resurrection cookies and we read the Easter story from the bible. After having her bring us her Easter basket and laying out some carrot's for the Easter Bunny, it was off to bed.
We decided to go to the early service at church this morning which meant I had to wake Lilliana up to get ready. She was excited to see what the Easter Bunny brought her and open the oven with her cookies in them. We got ready and headed to an amazing service and then home for lunch with family. One of my all time favorite songs sung at church is "He's Alive" and out church did a fabulous rendition of it this morning. Everyone was on their feet and just celebrating the amazing sacrifice and gift given to us.
This is the first year that I can remember it being this nice at Easter. I am usually disappointed with the selection I have made for Easter morning church because it usually has to be covered with a sweater or jacket. Not this year though, it was 80 degrees and sunny Sunday afternoon. After lunch, we enjoyed a fun Easter egg hunt with Lilliana and she enjoyed opening all of her eggs, where we had placed money. I figured she had gotten enough candy from other Easter egg hunts so this was the next best thing!
Overall, it was a fabulous day and we really enjoyed some quality time as a family.

Egg Hunt Playdate
Friday morning we headed over to Avon Park for a fun Easter egg hunt with some friends. We met Brittany, Austin, Jenni and Whit there around 10:00 and although the kids were more interested in playing than picking up eggs, we all had a great time. This was Lilliana's 2nd Easter egg hunt this year and since she was so interested in the 1st, I was surprised she wasn't a pro this go around. In the end, all the kids had a basket full of eggs and enjoyed snacking on their goodies after choosing each egg. They are so cute together and although Lilliana is the oldest, she plays really well with the "boys".

Chattanooga
Earlier this week, Clay, Lilliana and I packed up and went on a little impromptu trip to East Tennessee. Clay and I have never been that way before and decided that we needed a quick little getaway before our lives got a little more hectic this Summer. Clay is scheduled to take his LSAT review course starting in June and Lilliana starts ballet that same time. We decided to just take advantage of Lilliana's week off from school and enjoy some time as a family.
We left early Tuesday morning and decided that we would go the scenic route which was through Savannah, TN and over instead of the interstate up to Nashville and down. Although, it took quite a bit longer the scenery was nice and Lilliana was really good in the car. We stopped in Savannah at a fun little restaurant called, Uptown. The food was really good and I enjoyed a fabulous strawberry and chicken salad with vinaigrette dressing. L enjoyed their wonderful chicken fingers and fruit and Clay got an Italian panini. It was a great start to our vacation and then off we headed to Chattanooga.
We did stop again at Sewanee to have a look at the beautiful campus. Clay had always wanted to go by there so we decided since it was on the way, we would have a look. I was also able to get some great pictures of Lilliana while we were there. At that point, I wish I had our favorite photographer in my pocket and I really could have gotten some fabulous shots!
Once we finally arrived in Chattanooga, we stopped and ate at Mellow Mushroom and enjoyed a yummy pizza and cheesy bread sticks. From there, we headed to our hotel, the Chattanooga Choo Choo and got settled for the evening. Well, although we had been in the car all day, we attempted to get settled but Miss Priss was a little more reluctant than she normally is when sleeping in "Bobby's Bed" at home. I think this is the first time we had her in a hotel, in the same room as us and it proved to be difficult. She was wild as a horse and flipping all over the beds, laughing and just being plain crazy. She finally settled down just before 10 but, she did sleep all night.
We woke up and ate at the restaurant that was connected to the Hotel and then headed for a fun filled day at the Aquarium. It was so great and we were glad that we had decided to split it up into 2 trips with a nap in between. There was so much to see and after just one-half of it we were ready for lunch and naps. We enjoyed lunch at a nice Mexican place downtown before heading back to the Choo Choo. Although, L fought us again for a nap, she gave out a little more quickly than she had the night before and snoozed until 5:00.
Afterwards, we headed back downtown, this time on the free electric shuttle that picked up right outside our hotel. Lilliana thought she was so big and liked to sing "Wheels on the Bus" while we were headed down the road. Needless to say, she was a hit, and everyone was listening to her before long. :)
We finished up our evening enjoying the second half of the Aquarium and then decided to eat dinner again at The Mellow Mushroom. Lilliana was requesting pizza again and we figured it wouldn't hurt.
On Thursday morning, we enjoyed breakfast again at the hotel and then met my friend Amber down in the lobby to get a coupon for the CDM and allow the kids to play for a bit and explore the trains. Unfortunately Will fell and skinned his knee shortly into their visit and L was shortly there after so out visit was short lived. L and I then rode the shuttle back downtown to enjoy the Creative Discovery Museum while Clay packed the car and took a little tour of the city. We had a fabulous time and probably could have stayed all day had we not needed to get back to Memphis. On our way out, we stopped and enjoyed a late lunch at Mt. Vernon's and then went by Lookout Point.
Lilliana fell asleep shortly after getting on the road back to Memphis and enjoyed a good nap before watching a few episode of Mickey Mouse for the remainder of the trip. We stopped in Jackson on the way back for dinner at Los Portales, and then stayed on course for the next hour.
It was a great trip and I definitely think we'll be back. Lilliana had such a great time and I really enjoyed our little escape away from Memphis. Chattanooga is such a beautiful city and there is just so much that appeals to all.

Happy Birthday Emerson!!
Friday afternoon, Lilliana and I headed to Pump It Up for a fun 4th Birthday Party for Emerson. It was a Strawberry Shortcake themed party and the kids had such a blast. She had a great time and Emerson got some great gifts. I can't believe how quickly these kids are growing up. I remember when Emerson was born and I just can't believe 4 years have already passed.
